Season Recap: The 2011 Matawan Girls' tennis team finished the season with a record of 2 - 16. Five seniors will be graduating this year: first singles, Liz Matthews, third singles, Jamie Smith, second doubles, Angie Rivera, second doubles, Marissa Grosso, and second doubles, Caroline Radigan. It has been a pleasure coaching and getting to know all of these young women over the last three years - I wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors.
Once again Matawan faced some very difficult divisional opponents such as Holmdel, Rumson, and Shore; however, this year we improved our scores against divisional rivals Red Bank Regional, St. John Vianney, and Raritan. Next year I hope to see those tight matches favoring Matawan. I am proud of the hard work that my players put in this season; it has been great seeing my team improve and progress over the last three years. We are already looking forward to next season and our goal is to qualify for the Shore Conference Tournament.
