Week of May14- Practice on Thursday is at the high school. Our last meet is on Friday, May 18 vs. Neptune at Neptune.
Spring Sports Awards are on Tuesday night, May 22 @ 7 pm for travel team only.
Matawan vs. Long Branch: Congratulations to the Huskies for thier second win of the season, a 56-31 victory over Long Branch. Key performers were Thomas Williams, Tom Kalieta, Mike Toomey, Randy Myers, David Alston, Donald Small, Matt Coyle, and Shawn Ramcheran. Also the relay team consisting of Williams, Kalieta, Ramcheran, and Navarro had a decisive victory. Great victory boys.
Matawan vs. Ocean: The Huskies had a tough 2 point loss to Ocean on Friday with a 44-42 loss. It was a very exciting meet vs. one of the Shores best middle school track teams. We agian had strong performances by Mike Toomey, Thomas Williams, Tom Kalieta, Matt Coyle, Jereal McDonald, Donald Small, David Alton, Randy Myers, Micah Clark, and Jamaal Beaty. I am proud of the perfomance that all the athletes gave.
Matawan vs. Holmdel
Congratulations to the members of the boys track team for thier first victory of the season, a 69-17 win over Holmdel.
Key performers were: Mike Toomey who took first in the 1600, Keleb Mehari took 3rd, Thomas Williams and Tom Kelieta took 1st and 2nd in the both the 200m and the 100, Randy Myers nabbed 1st in the high jump, Matt Coyle took 1st in the 800 and 2nd in the 400m, Jereal McDonald got 1st in the 400 and 2nd in the long jump, David Alston jumped his way to 1st in the long jump, Donald Small took 1st in the shot and disk, Micah Clark took 2 in shot and Jamall Beaty took 3rd in the disc. It was truly a great performance by all.
