Principal's News

  • It is an exciting and proud time to be a Husky!  Our high school community continues to celebrate our Top 100 New Jersey Monthly High School 2012 ranking.  Currently, our high school is ranked #92 in New Jersey and #4 in Monmouth County. Only five Monmouth County schools have earned this distinction.  Additionally, our high school community is celebrating our excellent scores and improvements as noted by Inside Jersey in student test scores and student achievement over the past four years.  Our high school has also earned a place on the AP District Honor Roll.  We were selected for simultaneously increasing student access to Advanced Placement course work while increasing the percentage of students earning scores of 3 or higher on AP Exams.   We have continued to enhance our curriculum offerings, implement innovative programs and fortify our strong school community partnership.

We are continuing to build and expand the course offerings and internship opportunities for our STEM, Business, and Performing Arts academies.  Our freshman students continue to thrive in our successful and innovative Freshman Academy which is centered around the concept of a small learning community. The Academy is a school-within-a-school organized around interdisciplinary teams of English, mathematics, science and social studies. Additionally, the district administration is continuing the practice of offering PSAT testing to all sophomores and juniors at no cost to parents.

Advancements in our curriculum offerings continue to promote the academic rigor necessary to improve student achievement.  Our faculty is devoted to focusing efforts to enhance student writing skills and to strengthen critical and creative thinking skills.  Technology upgrades have been made to our computer labs, classrooms, and laptop carts.  The Husky Café and senior lounge offer our students a collegiate atmosphere which fosters academic and social growth.  The administration is committed to enhancing the climate and culture of Matawan Regional High School.
