Homework: What to Expect and How to Prepare
- Written homework will be assigned Monday through Thursday. Homework will be recorded in student agendas. Please make sure you check your child's homework agenda pad regularly for updates on upcoming assignments, events, and other important information.
- Students will be expected to read at home, independently or to someone, Monday through Friday. Assigned reading time will be written in the agenda pads daily. Students will record in their reading log, and parents/guardians at home will intial the reading log to verify reading was completed. I will be conferring with students throughout the school year to assign reading and target goals and skills appropriate to your child's reading level.
- Homework assigned is a review of the skills and lessons learned in class that day. Students are expected to complete homework assignments independently, neatly, and in a timely manner. 3 missed and/or late homework assignments will result in recess detention.
- Communication is KEY! Please reach out to me and let me know if your child is struggling to complete written homework assignments. If your child is having difficulty with homework, please have them STAR the problems and/or sections that they need review on.
