The major goals are to study, read, and analyze great literary works that represent a global perspective; as well as enhance the students’ reading, writing, listening, speaking and viewing skills. The course will utilize a global literary experience (taken from various ages and genres) to develop students’ language arts skills and assist with their transition to a post-high school world (i.e. college and the workplace). Real world applications of the language arts skills will be emphasized. By the conclusion of the course, students will come to appreciate the role literature plays in the development of language and society.
