I am delighted to welcome your child to eighth grade. First, I would like to take the time to introduce myself. My name is Mrs. Cahill and I will be teaching your child math this year.
I am a graduate of Georgian Court University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. I am certified to teach elementary school and mathematics from grades 6 - 8. During the course of the year, I will attend many professional development courses in order to keep me updated with current topics in math education.
It is my goal that your child's eighth grade experience will be filled with personal growth as a thinker and a learner. I am very much looking forward to starting this adventure.
This week you and I become partners in one of the most important jobs we have-helping your child become all that he or she can be. It is a scary, exciting, and challenging task-and a wonderfully rewarding one. I believe that it is essential that we keep the lines of communication open in order to help your child excel to the best of his or her ability.
I will call or write whenever I feel that your child needs a little extra help in getting along with others, growing in responsibility, or working harder. If you have any concerns, please feel free to contact me. I can be reached here at the school or you may contact me via e-mail, as I check it many times throughout the day. My email address is email@example.com.
One of my goals this year is to encourage your child to participate fully in school work and school fun. You can help by sharing school life. Children learn what they live. When your child see his or her life surrounded by caring and attentive parents and school staff, he or she will certainly join with us to help make this the best year yet.
I am looking forward to and exciting year and a rewarding partnership with you.
