• Dear Parent/Guardian,

I am delighted to welcome your child to sixth grade.  First, I would like to take the time to introduce myself.  My name is Mrs. Hynes.  I have been teaching at MAMS since September 2003. I have a Bachelor's degree in Math Education and a Master's degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, as well as many graduate credits in Teaching Middle School Math and Teaching Tolerance and Diversity. I have three daughters, two dogs, and a bird.

It is my goal that your child’s sixth grade experience will be filled with personal growth as a thinker and learner. I am looking forward to starting this adventure!

This year you and I become partners in one of the most important jobs we have -- helping your child to become all he or she can be. It's a scary, exciting, and challenging task -- and a terrifically rewarding one.  I feel it is essential that we keep the lines of communication open in order to help your child excel to the best of his or her ability.

I will call or write whenever I feel that your child needs a little extra help in getting along with others, growing in responsibility, or working harder.   If you have any concerns, please feel free to contact me.  I can be reached here at school.  The best way to get in touch with me is via e-mail, as I check it many times throughout the day.  My e-mail address is ghynes@marsd.org.

One of my goals this year is to encourage your child to participate fully in school work and school fun. You can help by sharing school life. Children learn what they live. When your child sees his or her life surrounded by caring and attentive parents and school staff, he or she will surely join with us to help make this the best year yet.

I'm looking forward to an exciting year and a rewarding partnership with you.

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Hynes
