     Mrs. Kelly Bera, Principal

    Mrs. Bera has worked in the Matawan Aberdeen Regional School District since September 1994.  She is a proud graduate of Trenton State College, (The College of New Jersey) where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech Pathology.  She then went on to obtain a Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology from Kean University and her Certificate of Clinical Competence.    

     

    Mrs. Bera worked as a Speech and Language Specialist at Cambridge Park, Cliffwood Elementary, Ravine Drive, Matawan Aberdeen Middle School and the High School for 7 years before returning to Kean University for a Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision. 

     

    Mrs. Bera began her Administrative journey in August 2005 when she was appointed Principal of Cliffwood Elementary School. As Principal,  Mrs. Bera worked collaboratively with the Board of Education, District Administration, Teachers, PTO and community members to provide an excellent education to the students at Cliffwood School.

     

    In July 2009, Mrs. Bera was appointed Principal of Strathmore Elementary School.  As the Instructional Leader, it is Mrs. Bera’s belief that an educator’s mission is to make school a safe, enjoyable and exciting experience everyday.  She has been working to help teachers to become more reflective educators.  She has also assisted students to achieve academic goals and provided support of academic programs. As an experienced administrator, Mrs. Bera has a good understanding of this district’s educational philosophy and shares the community’s goals and objectives for its students.

     

    Mrs. Bera’s educational philosophy is that all students can learn, given a positive learning environment that welcomes exploration and enhances student confidence.   If all students look forward to attending school they will want to learn.  

     

    Mrs. Bera has been married for 25 years and is the proud mother of two talented daughters.  She and her family enjoy traveling around the state watching her daughter, Maggie (age 24) perform the National Anthem for the New Jersey Nets, New York Mets, Philadelphia 76ers and many minor league baseball teams.  Maggie recently graduated from Texas State University.  She is now a professional actress in New York City.  Mrs. Bera’s youngest daughter, Taylor (age 21) just returned from the National Tour of Little House on the Prairie the Musical, starring Melissa Gilbert. Taylor now attends Montclair State University.
