Huskies start strong, fail to close out Hazlet in season finale

10/24/14 The Huskies(3-8-1)came off the bus ready to roll; and were first off the mark and fastest to the ball in the first half. The Husky offensive attack was thriving early, creating space out wide and getting the ball deep into the Hazlet defensive third. Enir Radoncic spotted Matawan to a 1-0 lead when he deposited a Nico Clark service into the back of the net. Unfortunately, that would be all the offense the Huskies would create even as they continued to make penetrating runs and establish possession in the attacking end. Three unanswered Hazlet goals would prove to be the difference in the second half, sending the Huskies to the dog house in a 3-1 defeat. 8th graders Mal Mehari, Nico Clark, Michael Porcelli, and Anthony Altomonte gave inspired spirited performances in their final game at the middle school. Giovanni Gallo capped a stellar 6th grade campaign with a blast from outside the eighteen yard box in the developmental period off of an assist from Marco Medel.
