PUBLIC NOTICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District Board of Education will hold a workshop on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 5:30 pm.

The purpose of the workshop is a meet and greet with the Board of Education and the Praetorian Agency staff. The Committee of the Whole Meeting will begin as scheduled at 6:30 pm.

The workshop will be held at Cambridge Park Elementary School, 1 Crest Way, Aberdeen, NJ.

Action will not take place at the workshop.

The Committee of the Whole Meeting will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Cambridge Park Elementary School, 1 Crest Way, Aberdeen, NJ beginning at 7:00 pm. The meeting will convene at 6:30 pm with a Closed Executive Session followed by the public portion. Public participation at this meeting will be permitted at the appropriate section of the board agenda. Members of the public that wish to write to the board may do so by submitting an email to: bdofed@marsd.org. All correspondence to the Board will be shared with the Board members and reflected on board agendas as Correspondence to the Board.

Policy/Regs & 2nd Reads

Board of Education policies are reviewed and revised regularly based on changes in the law, state regulations, and district practices. These policies are first discussed in committee, then presented to the Board as a whole and to the public twice before being voted on for approval. The protocol is that there is a first “reading,” wherein revisions arising from the discussion may be made. After a second reading, a vote is taken and the policy becomes part of the governing principles of the district.

The policies are arranged in numerical order. Additions and refinements to policies occur as they are approved by the Board of Education.
