Hello and welcome to the 2022-2023 school year. My name is Matt O'Brien and I have been in the district for the last 6 years. Previously, I have been at Cliffwood Elementary (2 years) and Cambridge Park (2 years). Before coming to MAMS I was a teacher aide for various middle school classes for 2 years at Bradley Beach. I am looking forward to getting back into the middle school field! This year, I will be teaching both 7th and 8th grade.

Aside from teaching, I also the head boys basketball coach at the high school here in Matawan. All interested athletes should be registering for this season using the Family ID-Click Here.  

I'm an avid sports fan and my go to teams are the New York Knicks, New York Giants, New York Yankees, and the best of all, Notre Dame football/basketball. Lastly, my wife (Jessica) is also a teacher in district at Lloyd Road and the head girls softball coach at the high school.
