My name is Mandi Waldron, and I am so excited to join the counseling team at Matawan-Aberdeen Middle School as the 8th grade counselor. I obtained a Bachelors degree in English and Secondary Education from Salisbury University in 2013, and started my career as an English teacher and head coach of the Varsity swim program at Howell High School. In 2017, I enrolled in the Educational Counseling Masters program at Monmouth University, and earned my School Counseling certificate in the state of New Jersey. I came to Matawan with 7 years of experience working in the K-12 educational setting, and I am thrilled to be making my home here with the Huskies.

Outside of school, I am an avid beach-goer, reader, swimmer and runner. I am also a huge hockey and Bruce Springsteen fan! As a former teacher and coach, I believe in the positive power of mentorship and connection, and feel that young people can achieve incredible things once they can believe in themselves.

Please feel free to take a look at the resources on my webpage to learn more about how I can be of assistance to you or your student. As the 8th grade school counselor, I am committed to assisting students in cultivating a positive image of themselves as learners, friends, explorers, and individuals, so that they can be more successful in high school and beyond. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any additional questions.
