    Sportsmanship

     

    Always models exemplary sportsman-like behavior and a positive attitude, accepts winning and losing respectfully, always encourages others

    Consistently models good sportsman-like behavior and a positive attitude, accepts winning and losing respectfully, often encourages others.

    Inconsistently models positive sportsman-like behavior; sometimes has a positive attitude.

    Frequently models negative sportsman-like behavior; frequently has a negative attitude; sometimes discourages other students.

    Always displays negative sportsmanship, always discourages others; concern is only for self.

     

     Participation

     

    Always demonstrates excellent effort and fully participates in all warm-ups and activities.

    Consistently demonstrates good effort and usually participates in all warm-ups and activities.

    Demonstrates some effort and usually participates in some warm-ups and activities.

    Rarely puts forth effort & frequently sits out of warm-ups & activities. Participation is poor.

    Never puts forth effort and sits out of warm-ups and activities.  Participation is rare or not at all.

     

     

    Preparation

    Excellent attendance, always on time for class, always prepared with appropriate PE attire and shoes, and always removes jewelry.

    Consistent attendance, almost always on time for class, almost always prepared with appropriate PE attire and shoes, and almost always removes jewelry.

    Fair attendance, sometimes late for class, inconsistently prepared with appropriate PE attire and shoes, and sometimes does not remove jewelry.

    Poor attendance, frequently late for class, frequently unprepared with appropriate PE attire and shoes, and frequently does not remove jewelry.

    Poor attendance results in loss of credit, almost always late for class, almost always unprepared with appropriate PE attire and shoes, and does not remove jewelry.

    Skill Development,

     

    Always demonstrates excellent understanding of skills, strategies, and game/fitness concepts; Displays excellent improvement in execution of skill development and shows high motivation for improvement of level of fitness.

    Consistently demonstrates adequate understanding of skills, strategies, and game/fitness concepts; Displays adequate improvement in execution of skill development and shows adequate concern for level of fitness.

    Inconsistently demonstrates understanding of skills, strategies, and game/fitness concepts; Displays some improvement in execution of skill development and occasionally shows concern for level of fitness.

    Demonstrates a poor understanding of skills, strategies, and game/fitness concepts; Displays little improvement in execution of skill development and has little concern for level of fitness.

    Refusal to attempt to learn and understand skills, strategies, and game/fitness concepts; Displays no interest in improving execution of skill development and has no concern for level of fitness.

    Safety

    Frequently disobeys class and game rules, boundaries, scoring; frequently misuses equipment.  Does not attempt to follow rules; frequently acts unsafe.

    Attitude

    &

    Respect

    Always respectful of all classmates and teachers; demonstrates excellent cooperation, a positive attitude and always models self-control.

    Consistently respectful of classmates and teachers; demonstrates adequate cooperation, usually has a positive attitude and models self-control.

    Inconsistently respectful of classmates and teachers; May be uncooperative or disrespectful at times, and needs some reminders to stay on task and in control; displays a negative attitude at times.

    Disrespectful towards classmates and teachers; Frequently uncooperative, needs constant reminders to stay on task and in control. Frequently displays a negative attitude

    Always disrespects classmates and teachers; Frequently uncooperative, never stays on task and has a negative attitude all of the time.

     

     
    Students are expected to come to class prepared and willing to participate.
