Hello Husky Families!
I'm one of the business education teachers at MRHS. Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a project manager/specialist for a space planning company and I hold a Masters of Business Administration. I'm so excited to have the pleasure of teaching the following classes this year: Economics I, Accounting I, Academy Computer Applications, The Business Network (SCM), Business Law, Sports & Entertainment Marketing, and Business Admin. & Management. Specific course information such as the syllabus, resources, etc. may be found in your student's designated Google Classroom.
Overview of the Business Academy at MRHS
As students enter their Freshman year in the Business Academy, Academy students will learn an overview of various business topics from computer applications, supply chain management (The Business Network), marketing, management, stock market analysis, accounting, and discussing the challenges of the business world today. Students will have opportunities for field trips, job shadowing/internships, and guest speakers. Upon graduating from the Business Academy, students are likely to major in a specific business field in college, become well-informed employees, and/or own their own business.
Overview of Business Electives at MRHS
“In today’s global economy, students need to be lifelong learners who have the knowledge and skills to adapt to an evolving workplace and world. To address these demands, Standard 9, 21st Century Life and Careers, which includes the 12 Career Ready Practices, establishes clear guidelines for what students need to know and be able to do in order to be successful in their future careers and to achieve financial independence.” (NJ Dept. of Ed., 2019). These courses discuss various content areas and skills from Standard 9: 9.1 Personal Financial Literacy, 9.2 Career Awareness, Exploration, and Preparation, and 9.3 Career and Technical Education. The overall intention of this courses are to “help students make informed decisions about their future personal, educational, work, and financial goals... and help students acquire the necessary academic and life skills to not only achieve individual success but also to contribute to the success of our society.” (NJ Dept. of Ed., 2019).
I am so excited to have all students in-person this year! Go Huskies!
Sincerely,
Ms. Huebsch
